Upon arrival, you will be asked to fill out an information sheet about your pet. If your pet appears unstable, one of our nurses will triage your pet by collecting a history of your pet's illness and assessing his or her stability by measuring vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, mucous membrane color and overall mentation status.
If your pet is stable, the nurse will leave your pet with you while we enter your pet's information into our computer system. You will then be escorted into an exam room where your doctor will perform a complete physical examination, discuss your pet's condition with you, and make recommendations for a treatment plan.
If your pet is in critical condition, severe pain, or becomes aggressive, your pet may need to be taken directly to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to be examined and/or receive immediate emergency treatment.
