Meet Our Cat Veterinarian and Team

We currently have two experienced and knowledgeable veterinarians on our team; Dr. John Richter Jr. first opened New England Cat Care in 1998 and has been with our practice ever since. He completed his Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania and today specializes in providing pets with compassionate, quality care. Internal medicine is his area of expertise, but he is able to offer a wide range of services to cats in our office.

Dr. Adrianna Arcuri is our other experienced veterinarian; she also happens to be the wife of Dr. Richter! She completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania as well, which is where she met Dr. Richter during her studies. Today, her areas of expertise in our clinic include surgical care and recovery.

In addition to our two veterinarians, New England Cat Care also has an experienced veterinary technician Alicia-Lynn Boulay Lee and a director of client care Danielle E. Crawford. These employees are committed to making sure your (and your cat's) experience with us is as stress-free and enjoyable as possible.

Explore Our Services Offered

Because New England Cat Care is a full-service veterinary clinic, we're able to offer a wide range of health and wellness services to your cat across all stages of life. This includes routine preventative care in the form of annual wellness exams, as well as vaccinations, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling. If your cat is not yet spayed or neutered, this is also a procedure we perform in our office.

We also specialize in cat dental care, offering everything from routine dental exams for cats to deep cleanings and treatments for common cat dental problems (gum disease, decay, etc.). If it's been more than a couple of years since your cat's last dental appointment, please be sure to schedule one soon.

Some of our other feline health services offered include:

  • specialized kitten care
  • diagnostic screening
  • soft tissue surgery

  • Dr.
    John G. Richter, Jr.
    RPh, VMD

Dr. Richter always had a calling to provide help to people and started out as a pharmacist after graduating the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.  He decided to apply to veterinary school and met his future wife, Dr. Arcuri, after being accepted to the veterinary program at the University of Pennsylvania.  He began his studies focusing on becoming an equine doctor but then discovered he had a love for cats and was very adept at understanding the complicated world of feline medicine.

Testimonials

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "I absolutely loved this vet and will definitely be back. He answered all of my questions and we had an entire hour to go over all of my overly anxious concerns. Felt right at home."
    Christina C.
  • "Great vets. Dr Richter knows so much about cats and is up to date on a significant body of current literature. Expected astronomical rates based on previous reviews, but got a full exam, Rabies vaccine and information to make a smooth move to Canada with my feline companion for under a hundred bucks. Would recommend this place to anyone with a cat."
    Liz G.
  • "Dr. Richter is always happy to help us and answer our questions, and he and his staff are wonderful with our very temperamental cat. They clearly explain everything they want to do before they do it, and they have never made us feel bad about our cat hissing and yowling at them. I hope we never have to find another veterinarian!"
