Welcome!
We are honored that you have chosen New England Cat Care for the health care needs of your cat.  Please use this page to help you prepare for your first appointment with us.  

Please bring the following to your appointment:
 

1. Forms Please download and bring these forms for your first appointment.  If you prefer, you may email them in before your appointment.  Please bring vaccine information and medical records from your prior veterinarian.  We are happy to contact your prior veterinarian for this information so please call us and provide the name and phone number so that we can obtain this information on your behalf.  You may also email this request as well.

2. Stool Sample:  Stool samples, or fecal exams, are very important to the health and well being of your cat.  This exam screens your cat for internal parasites as well as giardia.  Parasites can infect your cat at any point in life, even if they are indoor, and tend to be the most problematic for kittens and stray cats.  We also screen cats for parasites because internal parasites can be transmitted to people so this screening not only protects your cat, it protects you and your family as well.
   
   Stool samples need to be no more than 24 hours old, if you have multiple cats, one sample is fine to bring even if you are not sure which cat it is from.  If you are bringing a new cat into your home, keep them isolated and schedule a wellness exam and bring a stool sample as soon as possible so that we can ensure the little one is free from infectious disease and parasites BEFORE they meet your resident kitties.
3. Pet Insurance: If your cat has pet insurance, please bring a blank claim form when you come to your first visit.  We will keep your claim forms here at the office so if/when your kitty has a medical issue we will submit the insurance form on your behalf.  If you do not have pet insurance please visit our pet insurance page to learn why it is important that your cat have coverage.

Please arrive 15 minutes ahead of your scheduled time.  Our appointments tend to run about an hour long so that we can give you and your cat the time they deserve in a quiet and relaxing environment.  We utilize our longer appointment times in effort to provide your cat a full physical exam, perform additional procedures when required, and leave time for discussing your questions as well as treatment plans.
