Feline Health

We are here to provide you a unique approach to taking care of your cat by not just limiting ourselves to strictly medicine, but rather at researching and providing you with sound information on what embodies feline health and well-being. We want your cat to have to see us for an illness as little as possible so we have broken down Feline Health to cover many important topics not just related to the exam room. Our hope is that by educating you and debunking popular cat myths we can keep your furry friend happy and healthy.

Wellness Care

To keep your cat happy and healthy New England Cat Care recommends regular health exams to prevent illness. We use this time to build our relationship with you and your cat through comprehensive physical exams and diagnostic screening.

Kitten Care

The health and development of your kitten is very important to us. We are here to answer any questions you may have and provide guidance on what vaccines your kitten needs, deworming treatments, and help you prepare for your kitten to be spayed or neutered. Kittenhood is also the period of time to develop your bond and relationship to your growing cat. Teaching your kitten how to be handled and trained to not be afraid when trimming nails or administering medication are some of the things we can help you with.

The best time to train your kitten to be used to nail trimming is when your kitten is sleepy or napping. This is when kittens are the most relaxed. It is important not to try and trim all the nails at one time. You want to trim a couple claws and then stop and slowly work your way up to more claws at one time.
