Dental cleanings are designed to help keep your pet’s mouth and body healthy. If we find signs of any common dental conditions, a dental cleaning may be necessary to prevent further health problems. After completing some blood work and in some cases a urinalysis, we will determine if your pet is healthy enough to go under anesthesia. Anesthesia is necessary for pet dental work so that we can safely clean the gum line or extract bad teeth without causing unnecessary stress or discomfort.
We may also recommend that you withhold food for a set amount of time before the procedure to avoid an upset stomach or complications during the cleaning.
