Veterinarians

    Dr. Darryl Dixon, DVM .

    Dr. Dixon is a 1985 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.  He has served in the past years as a board member for the Animal Emergency Center, PetMed Emergency Center and University of Tennessee's College of Veterinarian Medicine. He enjoys fly fishing and traveling with his wife, Mary Karen.  They have three grown children, two border collies and three cats.  Dr Dixon's interests include diagnostic ultrasound, radiology, and internal medicine.

  • Dr. Gram Johnson, DVM
    Dr. Gram Johnson, DVM .

    A 1988 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Johnson is a second-generation veterinarian.  'Growing up with a father who was a veterinarian, I don't ever remember wanting to do anything else for a career,' says Dr. Johnson.  He has served as a board member and president of the Memphis/Shelby County Veterinary Medicine Association. He has also served as a board member and president of the PetMed Emergency Center. He and his wife, Gina, have 2 grown children. He is an active member of Central Church. He enjoys woodworking, spending time in the Great Smoky Mountains and being with his family.  Dr. Johnson's veterinary interests include surgery (soft tissue and orthopedic) and internal medicine.

  • Dr. Haley Rush Hanks, DVM
    Dr. Haley Rush Hanks, DVM .

    Dr. Hanks graduated from University of Tennessee Vet School in 2012 and is originally from Henderson, Tennessee. She enjoys spending time with her son, Beau, and their three dogs; Scoobert, Sprocket, and Carter.   Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is that no two days are alike, other than happy pets.  Dr. Hanks' interests include ophthalmology, internal medicine, surgery, and ultrasonography.

    Dr. Mindy Ricketts, DVM

    Dr. Ricketts did her undergraduate studies at the University of Mississippi then attended the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1989.  She and her husband, Charles, have 4 children: Wright, Jordan, Rachel and Luke.  She enjoys being with her family as well as spending time with their dog 'Archie' and cats 'Theodore' and 'Batman'.  Dr. Ricketts enjoys internal medicine and has a special interest in geriatric patients.

    Laura joined our staff as hospital manager in May 2014.  She first joined Forest Hill Animal Hospital in 2007 and worked as a kennel attendant and as a vet assistant.  Laura enjoys working with our clients and having hands on interaction with the pets that visit us.  In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, her son, their 2 cats  'Callie' and 'Champ,' and 2 golden retrievers 'Maverick' and 'Riggins.'
