Home Health and Hospice

When your animal has a chronic or fatal illness, you may want to consider home health or hospice care. For animals - hospice care focuses on providing pain control along with physical and emotional comfort of your pets when they are in a terminal medical condition.  Hospice care for pets also has a component of emotional support for the pet owner.

Home health care is similar, but usually refers to the care that is provided to an animal that may still recover. It can also be a type of care that is provided for either the owner's convenience, or to avoid transporting the pet to the hospital or clinic.  Sometimes when a pet is so ill that it needs continuous care, frequent trips to the clinic can cause damaging stress.

Alpine Animal Hospital provides home health and hospice care to animals and owners in need. This includes consultation and planning under the guidance of one of our physicians and regular visits by a professional veterinary technicians in the comfort of your home.  Technicians can provide and monitor care and answer your questions while instructing you on how to provide some of the care yourself, if you desire to do so.
