Rhinebeck Equine is the largest equine referral hospital in the Hudson Valley with board-certified specialists in surgery, internal medicine, theriogenology, and ophthalmology. We have a large field service team servicing horses on farms throughout the region. The following positions are currently available


Licensed Veterinary Technician

As an LVT you will be responsible for providing treatments, preparing, and administering medications, performing physical exams, passing nasogastric tubes, placing catheters, running fluids, and assisting with diagnostics for our hospitalized patients. As well, you will assist with surgery and nuclear scintigraphy. You will also be responsible for recording treatments and observations in medical records and reporting any abnormalities to the veterinarian on the case. Anesthetic and surgical experience is a huge plus! You will also assist in the general care and cleaning of our equine patients and their surroundings. We are team players, so you will have opportunities to work and learn in related departments.

Excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and equine medical knowledge are vital to this role. Your horse handling skills are key for successful candidates. Current Veterinary Technician Licensure is a must for this position.

Veterinary Assistant 

As a hospital veterinary assistant, your responsibilities include but are not limited to restraining patients, performing treatments, assisting in procedures, performing diagnostic testing, preparing medications and housekeeping. We cross-train our staff and work as a team, so you will have opportunities to learn and work in other areas of our hospital. Ambulatory assistant positions may also be available. Day, weekend, and overnight positions are available.

Excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and horse handling knowledge are vital to this role. A Valid driver's license is essential. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant in an equine setting is a must for this position.

Barn Assistant

A barn assistant position is often the first step on an equine career path. Your responsibilities will include holding horses for procedures, cleaning stalls, grooming, feeding, and hand walking as well as some housekeeping and restocking in the hospital. Being able to apply a twitch and lift over 50 pounds is essential for successful candidates. We cross-train our staff and work as a team, so you will have opportunities to learn and work in other areas of our hospital.

This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and full, top-tier benefits. A flexible schedule is a must as some nights and weekends are required. Compensation for this position ranges from $14.00- $16.00 per hour. See bottom of page for application instructions.

Client Service Professionals

We are seeking client service professionals with experience in the following areas:

· Recent equine hospital experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
· Large animal PMS experience (HVMS)
· Developed client interaction skills
· A/R- A/P background
· Typing, calculating, invoicing, and billing skills
· Veterinary terminology

This position is a full-time, permanent position with very competitive compensation, full benefits including medical, dental, 401k, educational assistance, PTO, EAP, care discounts, and more. Remote work is not available for this position and successful candidates will be fully vaccinated for Covid-19. We observe strict protocols, limit client contact, and require masking per CDC guidelines. Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
