puppy1.png When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service, and a friendly, caring attitude. We at Laporte Animal Clinic in Laporte CO are a team of caring, honest and reliable veterinary professionals who are devoted to providing you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We believe strongly in ongoing one-on-one communication with our clients and educating you to help you make the best, most well-informed decisions regarding your animal's care. We want to offer you all the options available but do not believe in high pressure type of advising. We have a friendly, comfortable and clean, yet home-town style veterinary facility. We also have an equine veterinarian to provide farm calls to your house and a haul in equine facility with stocks at our Waverly location. Call 970 - 490 -1999 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you.

*If you have the time, we stongly encourage you to visit the "online forms" page of this section, download and print out the client and pet informations forms for you and your specific type of pet and fill them out ahead of time. You can bring them with you at the time of your visit or fax them to us at 970-407-7977 or even email them to us ahead of time so that we can have your information entered in before you arrive for your visit! This helps us get to know you and your pet before you even come in and also saves your valuable time when you arrive for your pet's appointment.

Small Animal and Exotic care

Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. This will include a full physical exam, and may include bloodwork screening for senior or at risk pets, nutritional counseling, discussion of dental care (including scheduling a dental cleaning/oral exam under anesthesia if needed), and discussion of your individual pet's lifestyle, and any special needs or concerns. We recommend an annual fecal examination for intestinal parasites for dogs, cats and exotics, as well as annual heartworm testing and preventative for dogs. Dr. Marta and Andrew Dean will check the health of your pet from head to tail, and you will be very happy you came to Laporte Animal Clinic for service.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our vet clinic. If you do not have copies of their history/vaccinations in the past, etc, it is not a problem. Simply call your previous veterinarian's office and have the records faxed to us before your first visit (our fax # is 970-407-7977). It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. It helps to write a list of questions and bring it with you to your pet's first visit. Dr. Dean can still work with whatever information you have.

Here at Laporte Animal Clinic, we have the resources to perform a variety of veterinary services, including bloodwork, other lab testing, radiographs (both body and dental), soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries, dental cleaning and extractions and much more.
