Behavior Consultations

.

Our doctors will gladly help you if you have any concerns or questions regarding problems or changes in your pet’s behavior. We are able to meet with any clients that require or desire a more comprehensive behavioral consultation. Consultations involve a detailed behavioral history, behavior profile with temperament evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan. A written plan will provide behavioral and environmental modification and training recommendations. Anxiety-relieving medications may be recommended on a pet by pet basis.

For example:

  • Aggression: all types, human directed, inter-dog, inter-cat
  • Anxiety, Fears, Phobias: separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, thunderstorm phobia, specific fears, car rides
  • Inappropriate Elimination: house soiling, marking, submissive/excitement urination
  • Compulsive and Repetitive Behaviors: circling, tail chasing, fly snaping, excessive grooming
  • Senior Disorders: nocturnal restlessness/anxiety, excessive vocalization, aggression, cognitive dysfunction
  • Prevention of Behavior Problems: fear, anxiety, or aggression when introducing pets or with the arrival of a baby
  • High Energy and Activity Levels

Our doctors can also help you gather information prior to gaining a pet to determine which breed of dog or cat would be a good choice for your family
