Orthopedic

IMG_4267Orthopedics is the branch of medicine that deals with the prevention or correction of injuries or disorders associated with muscles, joints and ligaments.

We are able to diagnose and treat many orthopedic problems including fractures and conditions of the joints. Treatments may include any combination of medicine, surgery, laser therapy or physical rehabilitation with our hydrotherapy unit.

The most common orthopedic injury in dogs is a rupture of the anterior (cranial) cruciate ligament, ACL or CCL. We have had great success repairing this injury and returning dogs to nearly full function. We are adding a second method of treatment, TTA (tibial tuberosity advancement) to our method of ACL repair. Should your dog have a ruptured ACL, we will discuss treatment options.

Regardless of the repair method used, all dogs with ACL surgery should be rehabilitated. Our rehab department handles this portion of care. Information on Hydrotherapy can be found here!

We accept referrals for rehab from other clinics as well.
