North Central Animal Hospital

Your Phoenix Veterinarian and Bird Hospital

.

Welcome to North Central Animal Hospital where your pet is treated just like family! As your veterinary team in Phoenix, we provide high quality vet care for dogs, cats, sick birds, small mammals, reptiles and other exotics. Since 1995, Dr. Hillary Frank has been dedicated to North Central Animal Hospital. Dr. Hillary Frank was the first certified avian specialist in Arizona. Her lifelong dedication to sick birds is demonstrated through North Central Animal Hospital as the premier bird hospital in Phoenix. As a bird specialist, she has extensive knowledge and experience with African grey parrots, Amazon parrots, finches and much more. Your Phoenix veterinarians are proud to offer the following services:

North Central Animal Hospital also serves as your bird hospital in Phoenix. We are equipped with the latest technology in veterinary medicine. We use high frequency X-rays and ultrasound for accurate and detailed radiographs. Our surgical monitoring equipment continually checks your beloved companion’s heart rate, pulse, blood pressure, respiration and oxygen saturation. When appropriate, we use radiosurgery, which limits bleeding, pain, swelling and tissue trauma.

We encourage pet owners to take advantage of our affordable pet vaccination packages. We offer a variety of packages that include services such as pet exams, Bordetella vaccine as well as discounts on spay and neuter. To encourage rabies prevention, we even offer $5 rabies vaccines for pets.

Wellness Exams and Pet Dental Care with our Phoenix Veterinary Staff

North Central Animal Hospital is the veterinarian facility that believes in preventative care for pets. We recommend that your four-legged furry friend have an annual wellness exam or a bi-annual exam for senior pets. The sooner we can diagnose and treat health problems, the more effective treatment is for your pet. Each of our skilled veterinarians can perform a comprehensive pet exam to ensure that your pet is in good health. Exams include a lung and heart check, eyes, ears, skin and coat and abdominal check for tumors. We also let pet owners know what pet foods to feed their pet for optimal health.

Good dental hygiene is critical for your pet’s overall health. Built-up bacteria can cause heart, kidney and liver problems. We use the latest technology in pet dental care and provide tooth restoration, extractions, tooth cleaning and gum tumor removal. Our vets assess each tooth and all parts of the oral cavity during a pet dental exam.

  • Dr. Frank is absolutely the best! She is the only avian vet I can recommend. She is gentle and caring and has saved a couple of birds I did not think would make it. I am very thankful for her and her staff.

    - Carie L.
  • My cat needed quick attention and they were great at accommodating us, even though it was our first visit. Everyone is very friendly and the whole the experience was very positive even with the COVID restrictions.

    - Richard K.
  • What a great veterinary clinic! I was so happy to find doctors that specialized in small critters like my guinea pigs. The care that they have received here is phenomenal. They genuinely care about all of the animals and the front staff texts often to check on my pigs after their exams. I would definitely recommend north central animal hospital to anyone with special little pets!

  • My new vet place. Staff is great. Will stick to this place going forward. They also accept Care Credit.

  • Dr. Ivy & her techs were really kind to my dog. It wasn't a long wait & gave my dog Polar the best attention. Finding any vet on a Saturday for that low of a fee was surprising. They gave me cheaper alternatives on arthritis chews than what they offer and let me get his script to take elsewhere instead of forcing you to use their meds. Polar was really happy with the attention.
