North Central Animal Hospital Welcomes Dr. Ivy Thomas

North Central Animal Hospital is excited to welcome Dr. Ivy Thomas, DVM, back to the practice. Dr. Thomas’ impressive credentials and extensive clinical experience make her a valuable addition to the North Central Animal Hospital team.
Dr. Thomas will be joining Dr. Hillary Frank, DVM, Diplomate ABVP (avian), at North Central Animal Hospital’s North Phoenix clinic. Dr. Frank was the first certified avian specialist in the state of Arizona, making North Central Animal Hospital the premier bird hospital in Phoenix. Through their combined expertise, Dr. Thomas and Dr. Frank offer comprehensive veterinary care to all kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, reptiles, and exotics.
“We’re so happy to have Dr. Thomas back,” says Dr. Frank. “She is one of the most capable veterinarians I’ve ever met. With our skills and knowledge combined, I don’t think there’s anything we can’t accomplish when it comes to animal care.”
Dr. Thomas graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Before veterinary school, she worked for five years as a registered veterinary technician at a small animal referral and exotics practice. Dr. Thomas has completed clinical externships at Louisville Zoo, Henry Doorly Zoo in Nebraska, Wildlife Safari in Oregon, and Phoenix Zoo. Dr. Thomas also has extensive surgical experience, having served as an emergency clinician at Sonora Veterinary Specialists in Phoenix.
Aside from volunteering, Dr. Thomas also spends her time giving back to her alma mater by mentoring the Zoo/Exotics/Wildlife Student Club at Ross University. Currently, she is in the process of credentialing for the ABVP Specialty of Exotic Companion Mammal Practice. This certification indicates exceptional competence. Having two ABVP certified veterinarians on staff will further cement North Central Animal Hospital’s reputation as an excellent animal hospital in the Phoenix area.
