About Us - Our History     

Dr. Heather Steyn had the experience of building and managing veterinary hospitals for other people and companies for more than 10 years and in early 2011 made the decision to craft her own vision and embarked on the adventure of creating Advanced Animal Care of Colorado and DOG TALES Activity Center. During the entire year of 2011, she searched for the perfect location, bought the building, designed the facility and worked closely with a local contractor, Dohn Construction, to create her dream hospital. The vision was to have all services and amenities necessary in one location to serve the pet community of Northern Colorado, with a convenient location in a beautiful 8000 sq ft facility including the latest technology and advanced medical services. We opened the doors of AACC in November of 2011 and have been able to achieve the original dream and vision as well as continue to add on new services and provide the highest standards of client service and patient care.
