Cat Friendly Practice (AAFP)
Advanced Animal Care of Colorado understands that bringing your cat to the veterinarian can be a stressful experience for both you and your cat. To improve feline care, our practice has participated in the American Association of Feline Practitioner’s (AAFP) Cat Friendly Practice Program, a voluntary program created to help veterinarians address the wide range of unique feline needs.
From the AAFP’s self-assessment checklist, we have demonstrated that:
- We have an appropriate standard of equipment needed to investigate and treat feline diseases
- Our staff is knowledgeable about and understands cats’ unique needs to make veterinary visits more cat-friendly and reduce stress
- Our staff understands how to approach and handle cats in a gentle, empathetic and caring manner
We have a cat-friendly waiting room, feline-only examination room, and relaxing feline lodging to help keep scary sights and sounds to a minimum. Our hospital meets a standard for the facilities and care for hospitalized cats.
