Even after almost 40 years in the Veterinary field, I still look forward to going to work, interacting with our patients & clients & working cooperatively with such a great team that I consider family.

My mom predicted that I would be a veterinarian some day & was never surprised at what critters supposedly followed me home. My pets included of course dogs, cats & birds but my menagerie also included Queenie, my California King Snake, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, Barn Owls, horny toads and the infamous turtle named after my grandmother-Myrtle the Turtle.

In 1972, I graduated as a Dental Hygienist & worked in the field for 10 years. I then decided to return to school to pursue my first love, Veterinary Medicine. After completing a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Washington, a B.S. in Animal Science & a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 1987, I looked for the perfect place to live, work and play. The beauty of southern Oregon brought me to Klamath Falls.

My dream of owning my own veterinary hospital finally came true on June 1st of 1992 when Everett Veterinary Hospital opened its doors. After many expansions, the Boarding House was opened in 2000. However, one of my proudest moments was when EVH & BH became the only AAHA accredited veterinary hospital within almost 100 miles.

Being a type A personality, I am always busy and active. My spare time is spent walking my 4 legged friends and enjoying various indoor & outdoor sports. Perusing through antique stores & flea markets always gives me a thrill & of course I enjoy spending time with my two legged friends.

My love of traveling continues and I have been fortunate to visit much of the US & Mexico, China, Tibet, Paris, Greece, Amsterdam, Italy, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Southern Africa. Africa was an amazing adventure combining my loves of travel, animals and photography. My next big adventure is to the Panama Canal & Central America in February 2017.

I know that I am truly blessed to be in a profession where I am able to give and yet get back so much in return. I thank our clients and their precious pets for that.

IMG_3581.jpgI grew up in Yelm, WA as the third oldest of six children. My love for animals, a passion for their care, and an interest in medicine are the reasons I chose veterinary medicine as my career path. My special career interests include internal medicine, behavioral medicine and surgery.

My lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian has never wavered. I was active with FFA and 4-H where I raised rabbits and showed steers and sheep. My involvement in the Yelm community helped me to develop a heart for wanting to give back to my community.

I received my doctorate at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where I met my husband, Caleb as he worked towards his doctorate in physical therapy.

We love the new home we have found in Klamath Falls and appreciate the strong community that has welcomed us since starting at Everett Veterinary Hospital in July, 2015. We love the small-town feel of Klamath, its outdoor opportunities and the wonderful teams within our workplaces.

My hobbies include hiking, camping, running, yoga, wakeboarding, climbing and dog training. Theo and Aayla, my Australian Shepherds, are an integral part of my life and share my enthusiasm for outdoor adventures.
