As with people, the phrase "you are what you eat" pertains to our pets as well.

A premium balanced food, using excellent quality ingredients, is vital for their good health for today and their future. Research has proven that pets that are kept at a healthy body weight AND fed a premium balanced diet, live an average of 2 - 4 years longer.

We understand that watching TV commercials and reading food labels is very confusing and deceptive. There are so many pet foods on the market, deciding what is the best product for each individual pet is overwhelming. Whether to feed dry, canned, semi moist, refrigerated or raw diet is a critical decision that can make the difference between a healthy pet and a sickly pet due to chronic malnutrition. We are here to help you through this process.

We discuss nutrition on a daily basis with clients and although there is not the perfect product for all species, breeds, ages and sizes, I will say that this is NOT an area to save money. I tell clients routinely that either spend the money on a premium pet food or plan on seeing your veterinarian more frequently with recurrent health problems.

The proper diet can not only prevent medical problems but be used as medical treatment itself. Examples include K/D diet (low protein) for kidney disease, H/D diet (low salt) for heart disease, S/D diet (Struvite diet) for dissolving bladder stones etc.

Also, if a nutritional specialist is needed, we are happy to consult with a Hill's Science Diet Nutritional specialist, at no extra charge to you. They will evaluate your pets species, life stage, breed, activity level, body weight, body conditioning score, blood work, any medical problems and help you to decide which pet food is best to keep your pet happy, active and in optimal health.
