RADIOLOGY
DOCTOR ANDERS WITH HIS ASSISTANTS CARRIE, AND KAYLEA, ARE PREPARING ZEUS FOR HIS X-RAY.
Zeus was brought to us by his owners, to have his hips looked at.
X-Rays are used to examine various parts of an animals body. Doctor Anders uses X-rays to locate foreign objects within the body, as well as, to look for ruptures on underlying soft tissue in case of a pet who’s been in an accident. X-rays guide orthopedics in setting broken bones and other abnormalities in the joints. Now days, there are many different types of X-rays that are used to detect cancer and tumors.
X-rays are primarily used for detecting:
- fractures in bones can be seen on x-rays and become identified for treatment,
- arthritis in joints,
- bone cancer through tumors,
- swallowed items.
