Dr. Laura Bonofiglio is a 2010 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Bonofiglio spent a year as an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal practice in southeast Wisconsin. She has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery at Forest Home Animal Clinic since 2011.
Dr. Bonofiglio’s small animal care experiences began long before her degree in Veterinary Medicine. She worked for a small animal clinic as a Veterinary Medical Assistant for six years where she developed technical skills as well as her compassion and understanding of the importance of the owner-pet relationship. Her professional interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and surgery. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA) and the Milwaukee Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA).
In her spare time, Dr. Bonofiglio enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and feline companion, Louie, traveling (Especially to National Parks), hiking, fishing, boating, and gardening.
Dr. Erica Peck
Dr. Erica Peck was born and raised in North Dakota. After graduating high school, she moved to Minnesota where she received both her BS degree in Biology (2003) as well as her DVM degree from the University of Minnesota (2007). After graduating, she moved to Wisconsin to pursue a veterinary career in a mixed animal practice with an emphasis on small animal and dairy medicine. After five years she switched her focus to strictly small animal medicine. She joined Forest Home Animal Clinic in May 2018.
Dr. Peck's professional interests include surgery, dermatology, cardiology, and infectious diseases. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA), and the Milwaukee Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA).
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Peck enjoys spending time with her husband, their children, as well as their two dogs, Lupe and Priya, and three guinea pigs, Cucumber, Stuart, and Mr. Dinkles. She also enjoys reading, running, crafting/upcycling/repurposing, and painting furniture.
Dr. Chris Benton
Dr. Chris Benton grew up in Menomonee Falls, and began working with animals as a volunteer at Elm Brook Humane Society at age 12. Her work with animals eventually led her to Animal Emergency Center (now Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists in Glendale), where she worked as a veterinary nurse in the ICU for 4 years. She earned her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from UW-La Crosse (2007), and her DVM from the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine (2011). After graduation, she returned to the Milwaukee area to practice veterinary medicine. She joined Forest Home Animal Clinic in September 2020. Dr. Benton’s professional interests include surgery, ophthalmology, and providing care to reptiles and exotic small animals. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA), and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV).
In her free time, Dr. Benton enjoys spending time with her wife (Katie), mixed-breed dog (Darwin), two cats (Sterling and Lilee), guinea pig (Mr. Nibbles), and ball python (Orion). She also keeps a variety of invertebrate pets, including hermit crabs, millipedes, snails, and beetles. She enjoys gardening, tending to houseplants, painting, learning about insects and arachnids, and learning the art of bonsai.
