A few months ago Rupert was vomiting frequently, often several times a day. A physical exam and weight check with Dr. Bonofiglio also showed he had lost weight. We pursued further diagnostics and found his full blood-work panel came back normal but his radiographs showed gas in his stomach. Based on his results, Dr. Bonofiglio diagnosed Rupert with Irritable Bowel Disease (IBD). He was slowly transitioned over to prescription gastrointestinal food and put on the ForiFlora probiotic powder. Certified Technician, Chris, worked closely with me to help find the right prescription brand and flavor to appease his very finicky taste preferences. Rupert loves his treats but his sensitive stomach can’t handle normal treats. Luckily for him, Hill’s Pet Nutrition makes hypo-allergenic treats specifically for cats on prescription diets. As time went on, Ru gained his weight back and rarely vomits. Rupert quickly adjusted to his new diet and is a healthy and happy cat again!
