Microchipping

At the time of your pet's spay or neuter surgery, we recommend microchipping your pet.  We recognize and understand how devastating it can be when a pet is lost.  Microchipping your pet will greatly increase the chances of finding your pet safely and quickly.

A microchip is a computer chip that is injected between your pet's shoulder blades.  It is as painless as giving a vaccination.  Each microchip contains a unique identification number that is assigned exclusively to your pet.  These microchips are read by scanners found at all veterinary clinics and animal shelters.  Shelters and animal hospitals/clinics routinely scan lost pets that are brought in to check for a microchip.  Once the microchip is scanned, the recovery hotline is contacted, and your information is given immediately.  You can be contacted within minutes of having your pet scanned.

Only a one-time fee is required at the time of administration.  You will only need to update the microchip company database if your personal information changes.  Microchipping your pet will provide you with peace of mind.
